The Final Days Of Judy Garland

Starring SART alum Chelsey Lee Gaddy. Infused with the glamour and the melancholy of stardom, End of the Rainbow is a poignant musical drama by Peter Quilter, focusing on the life of Judy Garland in the months leading up to her tragic death in 1969. Featuring an array of Judy’s greatest hits!

SART alum Randy Noojin is joining us once again to share his one-man tribute, Hard Travelin’ with Woody. Hop a box car through the Dustbowl with Woody Guthrie and commune with the spirit, stories and songs of America's iconic folksinger, saint-of-the-workingman and poet-of-the-people in this critically acclaimed, award-winning multimedia solo show packed with Woody's spirit, music and artworks.

The Fantasticks:
An All-Star Staged Reading/Concert Event

The Fantasticks is the longest-running musical in the world and the first musical produced on the SART stage! This show is a funny and romantic musical about a boy, a girl, and their two fathers who try to keep them apart. Featuring an all-star cast of SART favorites!

Fiddler on the Roof

This award-winning classic features the tale of Tevye the Dairyman and his family’s struggles in a changing Russia is a true musical theatre tradition. Touching audiences worldwide with its humor, warmth and honesty, this universal show is a staple of the musical theatre canon and more relevant than ever.

Theatre for Young Audiences:
Charlotte's Web

Adaptation by Joseph Robinette

This season’s Theatre For Young Audiences show is the well-loved children’s classic, Charlotte’s Web. Based on the story by E.B. White, this is a beautiful, knowing play about the friendship between a pig named Wilbur and a little gray spider named Charlotte. This treasured tale explores bravery, selfless love and the true meaning of friendship.

July 5th-14th, 2024

The Tall Woman

Adaptation by Jim Cole Overholt

Adapted from the novel of the same name by Wilma Dykeman, The Tall Woman follows a woman named Lydia Moore McQueen and the effects of the hard life living in the Appalachian mountains of North Carolina just after the Civil War and during Reconstruction. This is a beautiful story of self-sacrifice, conviction, and forgiveness. The Tall Woman is making its WNC premiere on the SART stage!

July 18th-28th, 2024

Taking A Chance
On Love

In this charming comedy, it seems that Cupid's arrows are missing their mark and causing the "wrong" characters to fall in love. It's a merry mix-up of relationships–a saucy and intergenerational excursion into the realm of romance. Is age just a number? The delightful plot meanderings and unexpected twist at the end make this romantic evening of fun and laughter guaranteed to send you away with a smile. Written by one of SART's own founding members, this show had its world premiere on the Owen stage.
