Coming April 26 & 27, we will have the honor of bringing to the Owen Stage the remarkable vocal talent of Mary Mikels. Mikels, 25, is a gifted soprano singer and will be performing a Broadway Favorites & More concert.
A Raleigh native, Mary was born totally blind, but due to her steadfast determination and amazing vocal talent, she auditioned and was selected by American Idol©️ in the first round.
We are so thrilled to be welcoming Mary to Mars Hill and bringing her sensational show to the community! Special Thanks to longtime SART Supporter and bastion of the arts, Rick Bagley for introducing us to Mary & helping make her concert a possibility. Coming May 10, we are thrilled to have Jazz & Blues singer Maddy Curtis, joined by a jazz trio consisting of Kevin Sanders on piano, Cyril Foster on drums, and Adam Rose on guitar,
Maddy Curtis is an award-winning singer and is so excited to bring her music to SART's stage. After receiving her degree in Vocal Performance from The Catholic University of America in 2015, she's performed at many jazz clubs and venues around the Washington, DC area as well as performing in various operas and musical theater productions. She (and her little family) moved to Asheville in 2020 and has been performing in its vibrant music scene ever since.
