For 52 years, Southern Appalachian Repertory Theatre has been a cultural cornerstone of Mars Hill, NC and the greater Asheville region—producing professional-quality theatre that reflects, celebrates, and challenges the communities it serves. From world premieres rooted in Appalachian heritage to boundary-pushing new works and beloved American classics, SART has always believed that great theatre belongs to everyone: every background, everygeneration, every age. SART is seeking 15–20 Non-Equity, unpaid performers (ages 55+)

George Abbott was directing at age100. What’s your excuse for not auditioning?

The Music Man Sr. Audition Dates:
• Friday, March 20, 2026 (First Day of Spring)
• Saturday, March 21, 2026
• Callbacks: Sunday, March 22, 2026

What better way to greet the first day of spring than stepping into the spotlight to audition?
New seasons deserve new beginnings.

 

What to Prepare:

• A prepared one minute monologue
• Please prepare 16 bars of a musical selection from “The Music Man”. (A pianist will be available. Please bring printed sheet music of your 16 bars for the pianist.)
• Auditioners may also be asked to read from the script
